Remember this: When you hand out company brochures, put items in a shopping bag, or design the packaging for a new product, Gen-Yers will take notice of how much “waste” is involved.
Here are two examples of companies that have the right idea:
Domino’s Pizza:
Their GreenGraffiti initiative launched this week in the streets of NYC, Philly and L.A. Unlike traditional print ads, this type of environmentally friendly outdoor advertising uses no paper or ink – instead, they literally clean a message out of the dirt with a power-washer.
Lululemon:
Nearly every retail store sells their own version of reusable shopping bags, but the trendy yoga clothier has added a new twist — they give them away. Not only do Gen-Y shoppers appreciate this way of thinking, but the company now has a large team of loyal customers who use these as lunch bags every single day of the work week.
